Commissioned by the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Inner Horizon is London-based artist William Cobbing’s first U.S. solo exhibition. Presented as a multi-channel video installation, the work documents Cobbing’s journey through Utah’s basin and range landscapes—sites marked by vast geologic time, mineral residue, and sculptural formations shaped by wind and erosion.
Rather than intervening in the land, Cobbing approaches it as a space for reflection on its materiality. His presence is both active and recessive, using the land not as a stage but as a collaborator. The viewer inhabits his perspective through first-person camera work, transforming observation into dialogue. The result is not a heroic conquest of nature but a meditative encounter with it—one where the landscape is centered.

'Janus Seasons' (2025) The Art Block
Selfridges, 40 Duke Street, London, W1U 1AT
6 January - 31 October 2025

Selfridges London presents Janus Season at the Art Block, our permanent exhibition space at the Duke Street entrance.
The installation is composed of three pieces: sitting on the monolith at the centre is ‘Eye Spy’, inspired by the two-faced sculpture Janus Bifrons from the Vatican Museum, Janus (for whom the month January is named) is the Roman god of beginnings, transitions, duality, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings.
The sculptures all share a Janus-like double face (one video, the other a mirror), derived from the myth of Janus as the god of duality, transitions, paradoxes and portals.
